Had a great time over Labour Weekend in Rotorua. Aside from visiting some of the many Rotorua attractions, we visited the Redwoods and decided to do both the day and night Treetops walk (Adult $40 for both). For more information link here to Redwoods Treewalk.
I have written about the Redwoods previously, but had not completed the Treetops walk. It is definately worth it to pay the extra to do both day and night walk it if you have the time. We just happened to pick the busiest evening of the year and had an hour wait before we got to the entrance of the walk.

Two of our group don't like heights, but they took a concrete pill and managed both the day and night walks. They are very pleased they did it, they found they could look out amongst the trees and did not have to look down. If you do have trouble with heights, you don't have to go right up to the top section, as they have a bypass track. Although, I definately recommend that you do go up the stairs to the top if you can. I thought it was amazing to be up high looking down on those big trees, watching over all the ferns and other cover surrounding those big Redwood trees. The swing bridges and platforms are reasonably steady and the Treetops is generally an easy walking experience.
While my photography skills are coming along, I found it difficult to capture the delights of the night lights especially on the slightly bouncy swing bridges and platforms. However, I have attempted to capture the magic and mood of the lights along the walk. After we had finished the Treetops walk, we walked in and around the trees on the ground underneath the bridges and platforms. I loved it, being surrounded by fairy lights, bouncing around everywhere, just amazing.
If you don't want to do the Treetops walk, there are several other walks you can do in the Redwoods, it also has great biking trails which are separate from the walking tracks. Big tick for both walkers and bikers.
I think any time that you get outdoors and enjoy our beautiful country is worth it, so whether its hiking one of our Great Walks, a walk along the beach or in amongst these beautiful Redwood trees just enjoy.

Hi Lauren, the treetops walk is not pram friendly. However there are other walks you can do that are pram friendly.
Night photos look really cool! And that big redwood tree is huge! Is it pram friendly? 😉
