End of the Week

I find that when I get to the end of the week these days, I need to create a break between work and home. Now that so many of us are working more from home this break is more important than ever. Tonight I decided to visit the sculptures in The Domain. This time of year brings many pleasures, the crunch of the leaves on the ground, the green green grass and the lovely flowers and amazing big trees.

Before heading to The Domain, I decided to walk down through Parnell. I enjoy looking in the windows of the lovely Art Shops, yummy cafes and eateries, quirky antique and furniture shops. Always so much to see. Places that have been there for a long time and new places just forging a name for themselves. There is always so much to see and Friday night means people are a little more relaxed.

I started my walk into the Domain from Stanley Street in Auckland. There are 8 large sculptures in The Domain. Click on the Domain Sculpture Walk link to view the location of the Sculptures.

There are many parts to the Domain, the trees, gardens, the many different paths you can walk and sportsgrounds that are used by many. Its a real treasure and brings pleasure to many people.

Coming up on the 25 April 2021 is ANZAC Day. The Domain hosts one of the many parades that are held throughout the country. The Dawn Services starts at 5.30am, I'll be there along with many others to acknowledge the sacrificies of past and present Servicemen and Servicewoman. The War Memorial Museum hosts a day of celebrations and events - click on the link here to find out the timeline of events.
