The Wonder of Walking

Walking is not always about Health & Fitness, sometimes you do it just for the Joy of it. Whether you are meeting up with friends, going somewhere for the views or just taking some time out from your busy life walking always bring pleasure and enjoyment.

Today I combined the above joys by walking an art walk:

  • The Happiness - walking with family

  • The Enjoyment - walking with sea views

  • The Delight - walking through and around amazing Art

This Sculpture is found at the end of the walk.

Sculpture on the Gulf, held on Waiheke Island, is a coastal walk with Art spread among nature with an amazing scenic backdrop. This not only inspires but also allows you time to contemplate the impacts on the environment humans are having.

Today the weather is a little showery and windy. This all adds to the atmosphere of the walk. At the beginning and end of the walk you need to wipe and spray your shoes, this aids in the prevention of kauri die back. The track is well formed, you have a few small hills to climb along the way as well as a few steps. There are friendly volunteers along the way to provide support and information.

Sculpture on the gulf is a well organised and worthwhile cause, this year the theme is focused on kauri die back awareness. If you are looking for a walk that combines, happiness, enjoyment and delight then I would thoroughly recommend this one.
